The first meme I'm going to talk about for my blog is "Ben Swolo," otherwise known as "Shirtless Kylo Ren." The meme is based off of an image of Ben Solo or Kylo Ren, the main villain played by Adam Driver in the most recent Star Wars saga. The original picture was taken during a screening of Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi. In the picture, Ben is shirtless, wearing high-wasted pants, and has a serious expression. The aspect that drives this meme, however, is how jacked Ben is. The image looks so ridiculous and the scene from the movie left such an impact that it became a meme.
The first known iteration of the meme is a picture of Ben looming over a planet. His chest is stretched to be humongous, while his head remains small and has glowing red eyes.
As a Star Wars fan, I really enjoy this meme. I saw the film in theaters and remember finding this particular scene hilarious. People around me were laughing as well. The meme seems to be fading out with the movie, but it was great while it lasted. Below are some versions of the meme that I particularly like.
